Caring for Your PAWVÉ Fine Pet Jewellery
PAWVÉ introduces a new expression of fine jewellery–created specifically for pets. A category where design, materiality, and craftsmanship are held to the same standard as traditional fine jewellery.
Each piece is crafted from precious materials, including sterling silver, yellow gold, natural diamonds, and precious stones. Handcrafted in New Zealand by skilled jewellers, PAWVÉ is held to the same meticulous standards expected of fine jewellery for oneself.
With that comes a clear reality: fine materials require thoughtful handling and responsible care.
This guide outlines how to care for your PAWVÉ fine pet jewellery, along with recommended attachment practices to maintain its condition over time.
Wear & Longevity
PAWVÉ pieces are made from precious metals that naturally develop surface marks over time. Light scratches and micro-abrasions are an inherent characteristic of fine jewellery, not a flaw. With regular wear, this is expected.
In most cases, these marks can be professionally polished. However, deeper scratches, dents, or structural changes may not be fully reversible.
While PAWVÉ is designed with durability in mind, it is not indestructible. Like all fine jewellery, it should not be exposed to excessive force, pulling, impact, or rough activity. This is particularly important for pets with active, high-movement lifestyles.

Structural Details & Delicate Components
Every PAWVÉ piece is crafted using fine settings and small, precise components. Clasps, jump rings, and attachment points are intentionally refined, but they are also natural points of vulnerability under stress.
Excessive tension, twisting, or sudden force can cause these elements to bend, weaken, or break. This is inherent to fine jewellery and applies equally to the pieces you would wear yourself.
Constructed with delicate structures and precision components, fine jewellery requires careful handling to maintain its integrity over time.
PAWVÉ follows these same principles. As fine pet jewellery, it demands the same level of care, regardless of who it is worn by.
When to Remove Jewellery
To preserve both the appearance and structure of your PAWVÉ piece, it should be removed during:
- Vigorous play
- High-impact or high-movement activity
- Training sessions
- Swimming or bathing
Avoid exposing fine pet jewellery to:
- Harsh chemicals or cleaning agents
- Saltwater
These environments accelerate wear and can compromise both metal and stone settings.

Attaching Your PAWVÉ Pet Pendant
PAWVÉ fine jewellery can be attached in multiple ways, depending on your pet’s setup. Suitable attachment points include:
- Collar D-rings
- Key rings (connected to a collar D-ring)
- Leashes
- Harnesses
- Other owner-selected attachment points
The key requirement is that attachment is done without force. The clasp should fit naturally onto the chosen ring or loop. Forcing it into place risks weakening the mechanism or damaging the pendant.
If the collar ring is too large, a small, durable key ring can act as a secure intermediary.
Attachment decisions sit entirely with the owner. The method should reflect your pet’s size, strength, and activity level.
Cleaning & Storage
To maintain the finish and brilliance of your fine pet jewellery:
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry polishing cloth
- Store in the PAWVÉ jewellery box or a soft pouch when not in use
- Keep separate from other jewellery to avoid scratching
Consistent, simple care preserves both appearance and longevity.

Ongoing Inspection
Regular checks of your fine pet jewellery is necessary. Inspect your piece for:
- Loose stones
- Worn or weakened clasps
- Bent components
- Signs of metal stress
If any issue appears, stop using the piece immediately. Continued wear can result in loss or further damage.

Responsibility & Wear
Once a PAWVÉ piece is in use, responsibility for its care, attachment, and condition rests with the owner. This includes any wear, damage, or loss resulting from:
- Natural use over time
- Improper handling or attachment
- Excessive force or impact
- Environmental exposure
- High levels of activity

Fine Jewellery, Applied Differently
PAWVÉ is designed to be seen, worn, and cherished. Each piece is created using fine materials, precise craftsmanship, and is meant to be part of everyday life–not stored away or forgotten.
But while the context of fine pet jewellery is new, the nature of the materials is not. Fine jewellery remains fine jewellery. It requires care in how it is worn, handled, and maintained.
The PAWVÉ team is always available should you have any questions regarding your piece, from care and wear through to repair and longevity. Each pendant is part of a considered process, and we remain here to support its journey with you–ensuring it continues to be worn, cherished, and maintained with the same purpose it was created with.
